We also saw the queen bee rearing. There is only one queen in a hive. Raising a healthy queen is the key to producing high-quality Manuka honey. In February 2019, we went to the North Island of New Zealand and visited 5 apiaries. We contracted with Mana Kai and are going to sell our own “Awanui” brand with Kobe Apiary in the Japanese market. The Manuka tree grows only in New Zealand. It is highly bactericidal and is especially good for the respiratory and digestive systems. The higher the percentage of nectar from the manuka flower (means less nectar from other flowers), the more effective it is and the higher the price. CEO Andrew and GM Mike of Prolife Foods came to Japan from New Zealand! They supply us with the Haddrell’s and Cambridge brands of manuka honey. I took them to Denshoku in Tsuruga, the company to which we deliver the honey. We all enjoyed crab.
